The first international blog for education I found was that of an international teacher named Jeff Utecht. In his blogs he says it is important to have communication with your students. Kind of like a two way conversation. He says you have to give students the time to both read and write. He talks about how you can give your students a topic and allow them to search the web and find other blogs or websites on the topic and then write their own blog about the information they found. He also encourages his students to leave comments on other blogs. His web page International was very informative on how students could use the blog to communicate and learn about different subjects.

The next blog I found student voice was of a teacher who wanted students to hear what other students had to say. He says students will listen better if they hear it from another student instead of a teacher or parents. Therefore his blogs are about students talking with other students on certain topics. He says that the blogs are allowing student to understand material they learn from other students better because it is put in their own words.

Blogs are a good way for students to connect with other student around the world. It is important for student to connect with other student around the world and learn about other cultures. They can also connect with other students and learn about not only differences but similarities. This is a good way for students also to read about things that are not only going on in their own country but around the world.

Teachers encourage students to use these blogs because it is a great learning tool and helps with multi-cultural education. With this students can get a diverse look at certain topics in and around the world.

What I found for my search of teachers that use blogs in the classroom, was a blog by a teacher named Leah. She showed in bio blog that the demographics of her middles school which is a majority Hispanic. She talks about how most of the school time is used for reading, social studies, science and language arts. So the students get the least amount of time doing math. She uses her blogs for mathematics. It explains many different formulas so that if the students forget in class they can go to the blogs and read over more notes on the subject. The second blog I found was a blog about Novels. A teacher named Janice Robertson, and she used her blogs for novel discussions. She would write reading assignments online and would encourage her students to answer. She would ask things like how would you handle the situation that you read in the book. This way the students would be ready for the reading discussion in class.

In some cases it is hard for students as well as teacher to use blogs because if you search you can find some inappropriate things on the internet so schools are starting to ban them. But students still find way around the filter and some teachers allow students to post blogs at school. Blogs are becoming more popular in the school system now. Some other ways technology could be used in the classroom is by posting practice test or extra practice homework.

Teachers are starting to create their own web pages so student can get information off of the web page. Also teachers are starting to help students set up e-mail accounts and exchange them with other classmates, so that classmates can contact each other with group assignments or study groups. Teachers are also encouraging parents of students to go and check out the web pages or e-mail accounts, this way the parents can see how the internet can help their child.

Access

ACCESS is a very good approach to teaching students in Alabama about technology.
ACCESS means Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educator, and Students, Statewide. By the year 2010 Alabama hopes to have all of there schools using the Access program. Right now only 2 schools are using the program. Access also offers high quality instruction and high quality opportunities with cutting edge technology. Most of the teacher of this program is becoming professionals in the technology field. This is a good program because it teaches student how to learn in the 21st century.

This program also offers students online courses if they need to recover credits or graduated early. This program also offers students a chance to interact with students from other high schools. This program also gives students opportunity to earn advanced academic diploma, and participate in higher level courses. Some problems this program faces is limited financial resources, and generational poverty.

I think this program would be great to use. With this day and time I think it is important children now learn how to use technology. Technology is our future and we need to prepare our students for the future.

Alex.doc

Alex is a good way for me to look up lesson plans for my classroom. Alex also provides several links, and those links are correlated to content standards. You can also browse all of the content standard for each subject. This website gives you a variety of differnt ways in which you can teach in your classroom. With this you can also create your own workplace and submit some lesson plans of your own so other teachers can use them.

The links provided are professional ways in which you can teach in your classroom so it allows you to learn and grow as a professional teacher. You can also look at way to teach special education. If you forget how to use certain tools for your classroom like Microsoft office, the website provides tips on how to use them. This also provides you with some links for students for example a like on math, you can go and get word problems for your students.

Teachers are always looking for new ideas when it comes to teaching. This website is a great tool for finding a variety of lesson plans and tools to teach your classroom. It also helps teachers grow as professionals.

First Post

Okay so I do not have no pet snake named Rasco simply because I am terrified of snakes. However I just recently moved out of my parents house into my own apartment. I now have a pet of my own. Sadly my first pet fish Fernando died, I am guessing he caught the flu, or something close to that. The funeral was so sad. Everyone asked me why i burried a fish. I don't know about you but I do not treat my pets like crap so I could not flush him down the toliet.

I now have a new pet I went and saved Fernando's brother Pablo from the fish pound. Pablo is doing great he is a little sad that he missed Fernando's funeral, but I told Fernando goodbye for Pablo. Pablo does have many of Fernando's features, Fernando was a little bit of a lighter green than Pablo, but don't worry you can still tell that they are brothers. I really hope that Pablo does not catch the flu, I don't know if i could deal with another loss.
